Beautiful birds In Batik on Tissue:
Inspired by the exciting art of batik – hot wax resist – on paper and tissue paper with inks and a bleach like solution we will use traditional and non traditional tools to create beautiful images inspired by birds. We will explore different approaches to the technique appropriate to the theme including mark making, collage, backgrounds and other forms of resist.

Artist Bio:
Jenny is a textile artist and tutor living and working in Oswestry. Her work is inspired by the landscape of Shropshire, it’s colours, patterns textures and shapes. Rolling landscapes, clumps of trees perched on hills, ploughed fields and the changing of the seasons. Through her textile art she aims to bring out feelings about what is around her rather than being a true representation of any one place.
She works predominately in batik(hot wax resist) on tissue paper and on fabric, often combining it with machine embroidery adding a drawn element to her work.
Jenny offers talks, courses and workshops in Shropshire and around the UK.
She is a member of The Shropshire Guild of Contemporary Crafts, The Embroiderers Guild and The Batik Guild
