A fun mixed media project for beginners in free machine embroidery or for those with experience! A handmade card is a great way to keep in touch with others right now and this box provides you with everything you need to make 8 cards. Colourful collage papers are used to create mini compositions. Details are then added using free machine embroidery. The instructions will clearly set out the procedures and tips you need to follow if you are new to free machine embroidery. Such as lowering or covering the drop feed, fitting a free motion foot, aiming to keep the speed of your machine consistent. It does take practice but you will see a steady improvement in your accuracy from the first to the eighth card!
Three types of colourful collage papers have been prepared for you as well as materials and instructions to make some of your own.
The collages are created on rag paper and a number of images of finished cards are included to provide inspiration. An illustrated sample sheet gives information on how free machine techniques can be used to add detail and definition. A practice collage is also included so you can experiment with stitch before sewing into your own collages. There are 8 blank cards in the box so you can mount your compositions.
Allow for a two week turnaround having booked your project.
