Description
An introduction into the fun but unpredictable world of Eco Dyeing. In this workshop we will be using a combination of hand and machine stitch, collage and botanical contact printing to make two paper concertina sketch books (one of which fits into the other).
Decorating the book cover is first using a combination of hand and machine stitch, or simply handstitching if you prefer. Silk and cotton threads are best as they take up some colour from the leaves. We will also collage pages and I bring plenty of collage papers but feel free to bring any you have and would like to try (glossy magazine type paper does not work). You only need a few small pieces. Having collaged the focus is on adding the leaves. While waiting for the books to dry we will eco print the front cover and pages of the little book. Sealing and assembling the book comes next using watercolour paper for the pages, including a page with a pocket for storing treasures, like the little book we will have also made.
8 max on class.
