‘Expressive Collagraphs’ with Amarjeet Nandhra- *New 2023

£140

Description

This workshop explores the versatility of collagraph printing to create uniquely rich and individual prints. The basic premise of a collagraph is collage, to add and remove elements to a rigid surface. The range of beautiful textures, tones and marks that can be made using this exciting technique, creates a myriad of possibilities.

During the course, you will create a set of collagraph plates using a range of materials and a variety of plate-making techniques. Experiment with texture, tone, pattern and mark making, taking inspiration from your drawings or images.

Using these plates you will produce a series of experimental prints on paper and fabric using a printing press. We will explore basic and advanced inking techniques using both intaglio and relief methods (viscosity) to create variety in your prints.
