‘Expressive Seascapes in Acrylic’ with Marie Antoniou *New 2022


Spend a fabulous day painting in acrylic with the talented artist Marie Antoniou.


Through the subject of seascapes the focus will be to capture the energy and atmosphere of a coastal scene. I will demonstrate using Acrylic’s how to bring life to a still photo through expressive brushstrokes and bold colour. The day will also Include an introduction to Acrylic’s and how to get the best out of the medium. This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners as well as the more experienced painter. I will bring colour photographic reference, but feel free to bring your own photo’s.

You will need your Acrylic painting kit:

Acrylic paints – I use Daler Rowney System 3 original or Amsterdam Acrylic Paints

Colours I normally have in my kit are as follows:

  • Process Cyan
  • Ceruleun blue
  • Cadmium red
  • Crimson or process Magenta
  • Cadmium yellow
  • Lemon yellow
  • White
  • Yellow Ochre
  • Burnt sienna
  • Phthalo green
  • Deep VioletCanvases
    A minimum of Two canvases approx size: 18 X 20 inches Brushes
    I mainly use flat head brushes, sizes range from 1 to 3 inches. Other items include
  • ⁃  Palette
  • ⁃  mixing tray or scrap paper
  • ⁃  Kitchen Roll
  • ⁃  Water pot
  • ⁃  Table Easel – if you have one

Artist Bio:

Marie is an artist and tutor specialising in Acrylics. She loves painting wildlife and exploring the subject through marks and colours. She is represented by several galleries and over the last 6 years has exhibited with the David Shepherd Wildlife artist of the year exhibition at the Mall galleries, London. In 2016 she was also a contributing author to the acrylic section of Artists Painting techniques, published by Dorling Kindersley. Marie is also a contributing author to the Artist magazine.
