Fantasy Flower Brooches – A Home Project Box with Dot Ronaldson – NEW!

£52

A shimmer and sparkle free motion and hand stitch project! Dot will take you through step by step how to make these stunning 3-D flowers.  For the home project she focuses on brooches as the outcome, but the processes lend to many other applications.

Description

The box includes step by step illustrated instructions and video tutorial, templates, inspirational images and materials to make two brooches. The first following a pattern and the second of your own design. Included in the box will be pre-painted calico, stabiliser, stranded light effects thread, brooch backs and felt.
You will work on calico that has been prepared with gesso.  First adding paint. Then using very lovely light effects thread, hand stitch is added. Free machine embroidery is used to complete two dimensional flowers and leaves. A brooch back and felt backing are then added.
There are many possibilities with this technique. Images show fantasy flower picture compositions as well as individual motifs suitable for brooches.

The project is most suitable for those with some experience of free machine embroidery.

Dot will teach composition of further elements and other plant motifs in her two day Fantasy Flower Workshop, in person at Elm Farm in 2021.

The beautiful vase picture is by student: Catherine Eubanks.
