Description
Immerse yourself in all things floral during this one day workshop.
There will be flowers dotted around the room, and examples of vibrant, busy paintings for you to look at and discuss – you are bound to identify the details of colour, shapes, textures and patterns that you might like to apply to your own piece of work.
Winter flowers can be unexpectedly lovely but bring reference photos too if your favourite flower isn’t in bloom in November!
Start the day working on primed paper, exploring a variety of mark-making techniques; this is very freeing, and will be a good way to warm up at the start of the session.
Then put your new-found painterly magic into practice on canvas, working into your painting with glazes, texture, light and shade, flat pattern and (almost) realistic depictions of flowers, producing an eye-catching finished piece of work ready to take home and hang on the wall.
At the end of the session we will take a short while to look at and appreciate the wonderful paintings which have been created – it will be a joyful day!
Suitable for all.
