Introduction to Machine Embroidery – ‘Soldered Cards’

Produce several beautiful machine embroidered samples that will be displayed in aperture cards.  You will be shown how to use the soldering tool to cut back and reveal colours and textures beneath – and learn about the properties/ effects of both man made and natural fabrics.

This workshop is designed for complete beginners who are looking to build their confidence using the free machine embroidery foot – or darning foot.  You will produce several layered samples which can be cut back using the soldering tool with stunning results.  All you need is your machine with the facility to drop feed – and your free motion foot. We will be working with commercially printed fabrics so your chosen design will provide a guide for which you can ‘trace with the needle’.  Youll be a whiz by the end of the day!
