Inspired by the exciting art of batik – hot wax resist – on cotton fabric we will use traditional and non traditional tools to create interesting marks and textures to form pieces inspired by landscape. We will work with hot wax and inks, layering to create beautiful atmospheric images.
No experience is necessary as the technique will be taught from scratch. Most materials provided, just bring an apron, hairdryer, gloves and landscape images for inspiration. You may wish to bring a few pieces of interesting cotton fabrics, vintage scraps..plain sheeting to work on although Jenny will have some cotton fabric available.
This workshop can be attended as a stand alone or in conjunction with ‘ Natural Forms in the Landscape’ on the 22nd August.
