Upon booking your box you will be provided with all the materials and instructions to stitch your own 30cm by 30 cm sample.
The ‘pebble’ technique was originally developed from working samples produced for a coastal exhibition. I went on to develop the idea and started to use the technique in my bags and cushions. Each completed piece will be unique to you. Choose from the colour combinations listed above and I will select a range of fabrics to inc silks, velvets and lame. Included in your ‘Pebble Box’ will be your base fabric, lace, interlining – all you need to be able to provide is.a machine with the ability to drop the feed dogs and a free motion foot.
The project offers both beginners in machine embroidery and more advanced a chance to play with textures and colour combinations with super results. There is a large amount of free motion stitching which means its great for those wishing to build up their confidence in going ‘Free – motion’!
In your box will be a large quantity of mixed fabrics but if you are able to raid your own stash of little bits of space-dyed or commercial fabrics to inc silk velvet, dupion, velvet, metallic leather/faux leather – sequin fabrics please do so. The project is great for breathing new life into old clothes and other lovely textiles we all hoard at home waiting for the perfect project.

Once you have selected your colour way allow 14 days delivery time – this will give me a bit of time to select your fabrics and pack them off.

Just loved doing this machine embroidery project thanks to @alexandrawaylett. There was a generous number of fabrics in the pack and the colours and fabrics were so lush I couldn’t wait to get started. The instructions were very clear and thorough. The circles were so addictive I just had to do them again using extra colours from my own stash of fabrics. Will eventually become cushions.

‘Lockdown Pebbles’ kit: not as sociable as a ‘real’ workshop, (you have to supply your own biscuits and coffee too) but you still learn a lot, and it’s great fun.
The instructions in the beautifully-presented kit are very easy to follow.
I spent three very happy hours just choosing, cutting and placing the fabric ‘pebbles’ from the sumptuous selection of fabrics in the kit.
I enjoyed the free-motion machinging – I have finally cracked it…magic!
