Spend the day immersed in the tranquility of pine tree forests across the region of East Anglia known as ‘The Brecks’, and learn how to free motion stitch the iconic black silhouette of these pine trees with textile artist Caroline Hyde-Brown.

Description

Outline on watersoluble with demo. Study different painterly techniques of winter trees and discuss The Brecks research project.
FME followed by demonstration of foiling technique with leaves and black inks, combine with painted calico background.
Mono print demo of ferns and native leaves on calico background. Playtime!
Participants will finish a 9×9” stitched piece that can be shadow mounted in a box frame.

Some experience in Free Machine Embroidery is preferable for this project but ideal for those wishing to learn how to use water- soluble product to create subtle and delicate embroidery.
