Let’s draw the Christmas Bird (no, not a turkey!) A ROBIN
Robins are one of the UK’s most popular and recognisable birds, with their beautiful orange/red breasts and incredibly thin legs. They bring a wonderful flash of brightness during the cold winter months so it’s no wonder they are illustrated on Christmas cards time and time again.
This is your chance to illustrate a robin that you can have printed onto your own Christmas cards if you wish. Janie, an expert with coloured pencils, will show you how to create a beautiful chirpy little robin from a photograph and you can then add your own post, branch, wall, twig, post box or anything else for your robin to stand on, to create your very own, individual Christmas card. There will be plenty of photographs for you to choose from but if you have taken one yourself please bring it along. If you’ve seen an appealing photo of one in a book or magazine you can use that instead.
This will be a really fun day, filled with feathers and (if you’re into technology) tweets too.
For those just getting started I bring pencils for you to use and if you want to do more at home you can buy from a large selection at the end of the workshop.
