Description
A joyful machine embroidery workshop inspired by children’s book illustrations. These are often very graphic and stylised and it’s great fun to take inspiration from them.
Dot will bring along a selection of books and images to delight and to stimulate ideas.
A rough sketch of your initial composition idea is made just to consider shapes and scale. The main shapes are then pencilled onto rag paper before the collage fun begins.
You will be provided with a wide range of plain and patterned paper made by me. A playful collage is created and glued in place on the backing rag paper. Modge podge is used to seal.
An interfacing layer is added to the back before free motion embroidery is added to add definition and detail. French knots can be added to give a little texture too.
Mounting and framing ideas will be covered also.
