Deposits and Refunds

Deposits

For groups or workshops that cost more than £80, I offer the option to pay a 50% deposit up to eight weeks before the start date. This is because you are able to cancel your place and receive a full refund if you cancel your place up to eight weeks before your workshop starts.

All deposits are 50% of the total fee and should be paid online. If you wish to pay by an alternative method please contact me. Once you have paid a deposit and secured your place, you will receive an email notification to say when the final balance is due. If you do not pay this within eight weeks of the group or workshop starting, then you may lose your place and deposit.

Cancellations and refunds

Most bookings for my groups and workshops are made months in advance, and therefore it can be difficult for me to resell any places within a short period of time before the start date. Furthermore, my groups and workshops require a great deal of planning, including ordering supplies and tools, booking staff, and making commitments to pay any guest tutors. As a result,  cancellations can result in lost revenue, that may affect my ability to keep operating.

To cancel a place on a workshop, please provide me with written notice via email; [email protected]. Unless I have acknowledged your request, you shouldn’t consider your request delivered! If I don’t respond within five working days, then please send a follow-up email..

You can cancel your space on a workshop up to eight weeks before it takes place – if you do this, you will receive a full refund minus £8.00 admin fee per workshop, to deal with the process of issuing your refund and finding an alternative person to fill your space.  This eight week period allows me sufficient time to try and find someone to fill your place and I will endeavour to fill it through word of mouth and social media.  If you cancel within the eight week period before the date of the workshop I will try to find another student – however, please be understanding if I am unable to find someone to take your place, you will not receive a refund.  I do understand that there are sometimes unavoidable situations so am happy to discuss any exceptional circumstances you may have.

I am happy also to transfer your deposit from one workshop to another if there is sufficient places however this will incur an admin fee of £5.00.

All refunds are made to the source of the initial payment, ie. fees paid by a credit card can only be refunded to the same card.

Cancellations by Alexandra Waylett

I am entitled to cancel any group or workshop at any time subject to the repayment of any deposit and fees received in respect of the booking which has been cancelled.

In the unlikely event of a cancellation by myself or a guest tutor, I  will provide a full refund within 28 days of the workshop.

My liability is only for the cost of the class. If the class is cancelled, students are liable for any costs incurred including materials purchased in advance, travel or accommodation.
