Birds and Butterflies in Metal Thread Work with Jenny Adin-Christie *New 2026

A fabulous opportunity working with renowned professional hand embroiderer, designer and tutor Jenny Adin-Christie.  Participants will have the chance to learn an eclectic range of hand embroidery techniques to create either a Hebridean Puffin, a Mosaic Pheasant, or a Millefiori Butterfly Brooch. These designs principally used metal thread work techniques such as couching, or nué, working with pearl purl and use of cut smooth purl, but with the addition of other delicious materials such as mesh ribbons, fettuccine ribbons, beads and sequins.

You will not be able to finish a project in 2 days but will learn the key techniques and will be provided with a highly comprehensive instruction manual to allow you to complete confidently at home.

You will be provided with a full working kit containing all the materials and needles required to complete your chosen design.

Kit prices are detailed below and available to purchase directly from Jenny on the day of the workshop. Jenny also loans out and sells equipment too which you can pre-order for the day.  A form will be sent upon booking asking what project you would like to order and what, if any equipment you need.  I have a comprehensive list of materials for each project that I will email upon request. It includes things like hoops, stand, scissors, needles etc.
