Description
This workshop is for those looking to build on their existing skills or an enthusiastic beginner. We will be making a raised 2D woodpecker picture using carded wool and merino tops, he has a glass eye and individual feathers. Please, as always, remember that felting is a forgiving craft and mistakes can be easily rectified it is mindful, enjoyable and addictive.
We will begin by making marking and drawing the shape of the bird following the supplied picture. We will then build up the body, head using core wool. Then the fun begins gluing in the eye and felting the woodpecker, making tail feathers with wire and tussah silk fibre and wings from flat felt. The body of woody is completed using the ‘long fur’ technique trimmed to look like feathers.
Jan supplies all wool, felt (she has used linen for her sample. If you want to use linen please supply your own), needles, eye and a foam block, if required.
Wool, eye, needles, felt and pattern £12,00.
