Produce several beautiful machine embroidered samples that will be displayed in aperture cards.  You will be shown how to use the soldering tool to cut back and reveal colours and textures beneath – and learn about the properties/ effects of both man made and natural fabrics.

This workshop is designed for those who are looking to build their confidence using the free machine embroidery foot ( darning foot)

Equally if you would like to experiment with using the soldering tool in Textile Art then this one is for you!

Participants will produce several layered samples which can be cut back using the soldering tool with stunning results.  All you need is your machine with the facility to drop feed – and your free motion foot. We will be working with commercially printed fabrics so your chosen design will provide a guide for which you can ‘trace with the needle’.  You will be a whiz by the end of the day!

*All materials including aperture cards will be provided within the fee shown. Please check requirements tab for things to bring on the day.

*If you have asthma , breathing problems it is not advisable to do the course.  * * Soldering will be done in a well ventilated room.

Requirements:

  • Your Lunch
  • Machine (with drop feed)  with Manual,
  • Machine embroidery foot
  • Any machine embroidery threads you may have
  • sewing kit to inc scissors
  • spare empty bobbins
  • If you have a craft soldering tool you can bring please let me know and bring it along. Margaret Beale soldering tool is ideal as it has a very pointy end!
