Description
Haven’t so many of us accumulated lots of small amounts of wonderful threads over the course of time. This is the perfect opportunity to work with them once again exploring their beautiful colours and delicious textures to create something very special.
Using just a combination of a few types of stitches a scene can be created without having had much previous experience in hand embroidery. Find a small photo image of a flower bed in your garden or a cutting from a magazine which inspires you in colour and layout, bring it along and this can make a great starting point to work with.
Using linen stretched on an embroidery hoop I will demonstrate how the layers can be worked together to recreate any simple garden scene of approximately 10-16cm square. At the end of the day you will have the start of a piece of hand embroidery with a clear idea and plan how to complete in your own time at home.
