‘Framing Memories’ – A Hand Stitch Workshop with Suzette Smart *New 2027

£80

On this one day hand stitch workshop with Suzette Smart, you will create a unique textile story using a piece of vintage linen to frame an old photograph or postcard. Once your image is in place, you will begin building your composition with fabric and paper collage, adding hand stitching to highlight details and bring your story to life.

Description

You will make fabric and paper doors that open to reveal your treasured image, stitching them into place to create a beautiful and meaningful frame for your memories. The name of a person or place can also be incorporated into your design, and you may choose to include a fragment of an old letter or handwritten paper to add another layer of personal history.

To complete your piece, you will add a small charm to personalise your work, creating a special keepsake that reflects your own story.

This is a perfect project for those who enjoy slow, mindful hand stitching and creating an heirloom textile that celebrates memory, storytelling, and the beauty of treasured materials.
