Description
Having dipped your toe into the delights of ‘Sumptuous Soldering 1’, this course takes you into the realms of design and composition, using all the techniques used in the first course (and more). Participants will be asked to draw out a ‘cartoon’ within a circle prior to the day – taking their inspiration from the natural world. You could choose birds, fish, butterflies – email me your idea a few weeks before the first day. We will then use your design as the basis on which to layer up, print, foil and finally solder, creating a 3-d piece that could be presented within a large hoop or box frame.
Techniques include gilding, foiling, applique and acrylic printing before machine stitching the components and bringing together as one design ready to be soldered.
To achieve the most out of the course participants could work on their design in the weeks in between sessions.
This workshop is not suitable for those who suffer with breathing problems such as asthma.
