Description
This year I have extended this course across three days – allowing more time for creating the flowers and leaves on the final day.
We will spend the first day working with Koh i noor inks and various other paints and metallic wax to produce a textural background with lens tissue, papers and string before on the second day, stitching into your designs using your floral pictures as a design source. You will be taken through a series of steps to create the triptych using sheers and stitch to link all the pieces. On the second day I will show you how I further stitch into the piece accenting some of the flowers and leaves . We will begin to create 3d elements to add to your piece -flower heads and leaves are created using such methods as water soluble in a hoop. The third day will be slightly shorter , finishing at 3pm but it will be a busy morning spent stitching and working on each panel with demonstrations by me throughout.
This course is suitable for those with experience of free machine embroidery and is ideal for those who are excited about creating structural textiles in their work.
We will make time on the third day to talk about mounting and framing your A3 artwork.
If you have done this course before and would like to work with garden birds as your inspiration – great ! Just let me know prior to booking.
*If you are looking for hotel /B&B accommodation nearby email me for suggestions that we use regularly.
