Description
This course will look at methods of using collage and colour to develop a variety of design ideas.
We will look at paper surfaces, consider their different qualities and fibres, their strength and their fragility.
We will explore the use of colour with a variety of media, to give differing surface finishes and effects.
We will then explore various methods of combining papers to create original and colourful imagery.
There will be plenty of opportunity to develop a variety of different samples for personal and individual future development.
This course is for those who wish to expand their knowledge and experience of using different specialist and everyday papers for creative and imaginative personal work.
Students will have the opportunity to create a number of colourful collages, exploring paper qualities, finishes and various compositions.
Ruth Issett studied textiles, specialising in Embroidery in Gloucestershire and Birmingham. She is a member of the Textile Study Group and has written 6 books relating to the use of colour, textiles and paper. For many years she was seen working with Art Van Go at the Knit and Stitch and the Festival of Quilts. She has taught throughout Europe, USA and Australia but is now happy to spend plenty of her time in her studio in Suffolk.
