Description
In this creative 1-day hand-weaving workshop you will learn how to weave multicolour gradients using a splicing technique to subtly blend tonal colours and hues into beautiful gradations and graphic effects. We will also explore the technique of hatching for blending colours across the cloth in different areas of your design.
Each student will have plenty of one-to-one guidance and support to help develop their own ideas and design, including demonstrations on other techniques if required. This can include guidance on weaving alternative structures and shapes.
We will be working with an A3-size beech-wood frame loom, which comes with a rotating heddle bar, weaving with several strands of fine merino yarn, which will be available in a beautiful range of colours, along with a large range of rug yarn.
Suitable for beginners and those looking to develop their weaving skills.
All tools and materials are provided. A large selection of coloured wool will be provided by Pam for £10.00. If you wish to purchase any further balls you can do at the end of the day.
You will have the option to purchase your weaving loom kit and any additional materials at a special rate at the end of the workshop.
