Description
In this workshop you will discover unexpected and interesting colour combinations from flowers and the natural world, perfect for expanding your own colour palette and finding new approaches to using colour.
Day 1. Tessa will demonstrate various techniques with watercolour and mixed media to use in your sketchbook, and we will look at artists who use colour in interesting ways. Painting from colourful flowers ( it will be tulip time!) and possibly photo references, you will find exciting colour combinations and prepare a pile of small painted papers for collage.
Day 2. Looking at your sketchbook studies, you will use your painted papers to create colour studies, exploring proportion and tone, and complimentary colour, finding unusual and unexpected arrangements. These could then be interpreted into small compositions for paintings or textile pieces. We will finish the day with a show of work to share and inspire.
