Description
New for 2027, introducing beautiful cicada images with stunning iridescent wings! Create a fabulous mixed media piece which will be made using free machine embroidery and / or hand stitch. Your creature(s) will be made using either fused fabric, PVC or an oil pastel transfer. All of the above methods will enable you to achieve an accurate rendition of your creature which you will embellish with stitch, paint and pen. You will use a range of iridescent cellophanes, papers and gold leaf.
Make a lily pad or a lush rainforest background for your frog, display your butterfly on an exotic flower or position your iridescent beetles amongst leafy vegetation. Use dazzling fluorescent threads to create amazing visual contrasts.
*Participants can choose to either focus purely on hand stitch or create pieces using free machine embroidery, or a combination of both.
