Description
The blocks in this quilt are constructed using foundation paper piecing. Foundation paper piecing (FPP) is a very accurate form of patchwork and is perfect for blocks with intricate shapes. Fabrics are stitched to paper templates on the machine and then once the blocks are finished, the papers are removed. During the day we will work on swirly blocks and lots of tips and techniques will be given along the way.
I have made my quilt using fabric scraps but I think it would work with most fabric combinations.
Students will be provided with paper patterns for three blocks and a master for photocopying for further blocks.
To finish the quilt but not needed on the day:
- 10in fabric for the binding
- Wadding 48 x 48in
- Backing fabric 48 x 48in
