Description
You will start with a simple coaster to learn the technique and then move on to create a basket, adding strips of fabric along the way to add colour and interest – a great way to use up all those scrap bits of fabric we don’t know what to do with but don’t want to throw away!
Quilting/patchwork fabric works beautifully.
When sewing the basket, you can use either off-white thread which will blend with the cord or use a coloured thread to match/contrast with your fabric scraps. Don’t worry about the length of your fabric scraps, as long as they are at least 1.5” (4cm) wide.
Finally to complete the contemporary look of this scandi basket Stella will help participants attach leather finishing and handles.
This workshop is suitable for all. As long as you can stitch in a straight..or curved line you will be fine !
