Description
On this 2 day workshop you will be shown ideas to make a little French book which can be used as a needle case. Your foundation fabric will be a French tea towel on which you can add window and pocket details designed to keep your favourite embroidery thread, pins and needles safe.
There will be design ideas and bird templates to choose from which can feature on your front cover and plenty of opportunities to add words and phrases in French. These might be free machined or hand stitched. You may also include some vintage French paper in your book.
For the inside of your needle case you might include a piece of broderie Anglaise and stitch a fleur de lis design on the front of a pocket.
When you have filled the pages of your book it’s time to stitch up the seams and fill with your sewing bits and pieces.
Suzette will source the French tea towels for your foundation fabric to buy on the day but you are welcome to find your own.
There will be templates for the birds and lots of needle cases for inspiration.
