Introduction To Hand Held Loom Weaving *2024

This creative weaving workshop allows participants to gain an excellent understanding of the principles of hand-weaving, whilst covering a broad range of techniques to enable you to start your own weaving projects.

Under Pamela’s guidance you will learn how to set up a frame loom and to weave a variety of classic weave structures, such as plain weave and twill, as well as some decorative tapestry techniques including rya knots and soumak stitch and an intro to shapes.

We will be working with an A3-size beech wood frame loom which comes with a rotating heddle bar. An inspirational variety of wool yarns, including merino, will be supplied in a beautiful selection of colours, along with some fancy Italian yarns to enable you to experiment with texture and colour blending.

Suitable for complete beginners and those relatively new to weaving looking to develop their techniques.

You will have the option to purchase your weaving loom kit and materials at a special rate at the end of the workshop.

Pamela Print is a hand-weaver and textile artist with 15 years experience in designing woven textiles within industry and her own hand-weaving practice. She is a selected member of the Crafts Council UK and Design Nation, and her work has been featured in Country Living Modern Rustic, The Guardian and House Beautiful.
