‘Screen Print and Slow Stitch’ with Colette Moscrop *New Dates Published

£135

Screen print your own fabric and make a slow stitched textile collage cushion or wall hanging across two days with designer maker Colette Moscrop.

Description

On this 2 day workshop you will design and screen print your own fabric with a simple method you can easily repeat at home. I’ll show you some other printing techniques using objects you can find around the home to create pattern and texture.
Experiment with colour and pattern to create your own fabric that will be used in a textile collage piece that can be used to make a cushion cover or a wall hanging, you can choose which to make.

I’ll show you a relaxed style of piecing that embraces imperfection allowing the fabrics you’ve created to shine. We will then add some slow stitching to the process and incorporate simple stitches into your work to add layers of texture and colour.

Day 1 – Printing fabric

Day 2 – Piecing and adding hand stitching. You may need to complete the construction of your cushion / wall hanging at home if you run out of time.

Linen FQs and linen threads will be available to buy on the day if you would like them.
