Welcoming back Ella Goodwin to the studio making her return with her gorgeous whimsical creations. Ella takes participants through step by step demonstrating how to create a cat or rabbit character with hand stitch detail and embellishment. Remaining decorative hand stitching will be completed at home after the two days.
Join Ella for a course full of whimsy and creativity! You won’t make a replica of the one pictured, you will get creative choosing fabrics, expressions, stitching and colour schemes to really put your own stamp on your final character.
The first day will be spent choosing the paper patterns for your character, cutting the fabrics out and stitching them up. I will have templates for simple cat and rabbits and you can adjust to suit the kind of character you want to make. We will complete the head and body wiring the limbs, making the feet and little boots and adding painted details.
On the second day we will get to know our characters starting with the face using embroidery.
We’ll be using some simple embroidery stitches to decorate, layering fabrics for the clothing and working out the stories our characters have to tell!
Basic machine sewing skills will be required.
