Sooo looking forward to being back in the studio and seeing everyone in May. I have kept the table arrangement the same as last year with acrylic screens separating each station. For the time being there will be a maximum of seven participants and this will be reviewed as we go along. I will be asking people to wear face masks when you are up and about in the studio and you will still be temperature checked at the door but Covid formalities aside I am excited and positive for the future and have begun to include new tutors to this years itinery and lots of exciting plans for 2022.
Thank you again for supporting myself and other tutors affiliated with the studio by purchasing the boxed projects /video tutorials and giving them a go at home with such gusto! I have been blown away with the response and have loved producing them as they have continued to give me a purpose and keep the old brain ticking! As my attentions turn to teaching in person again I am going to continue offering the projects but rather than offering all of them on the website at any one time, I have decided to offer a ‘Project of the Month’, so 5-10 boxes will be pre-packed and simply posted out upon request. Projects will be advertised on FB but do email me if you would like to know the project each month. Dot Ronaldson is currently putting together a fabulously funky hand stitch project which will be available in May and I plan on putting together some Hydrangea projects in July .
Exhibition News:
Throughout this year you have been busy making, learning and producing gorgeous pieces that need to be seen and celebrated! So every eight weeks I plan on displaying up to five artists work in the studio. The pieces do not to be for sale – the only criteria is that the work comes ready to hang and has been produced from a project affiliated with the studio. Please do get in contact if you have a few pieces produced during this time – I would love to hear from you.
Stitchers Inc Textiles Group finally get to display their long awaited exhibition : ‘Another Stitch in the Wall’ at the Mill Tye Gallery , Great Cornard, Sudbury, CO10 0GW. Design For Stitch – A ten day course across 12 months:
This year I have split the new group into two smaller groups of six, and running from September through to June 2022. All the ladies have had their dates moved several times and have had to be so patient! But fingers crossed we can finally get the course back up and running in September. I love teaching this course – something I am very proud of as it has developed and grown over ten years of teaching .
